While staying on a gorgeous piece of Delray Beach real estate, I remember talking to some friends about our favorite Beatles albums, as well as concert events and movies. We discussed everything from Revolver to Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr’s latest concerts.

Later that evening, I dozed off while listening to the Beatles’ White Album. I quickly entered a colorful dream state. I was surrounded by strangers in the crowded stands of my high school football field when McCartney started performing from the 50-yard line. The bass player looked phenomenal for his age. With no opening words, he was seen diving straight into “Magical Mystery Tour.” Psychedelic light arrangements added color to the football field. Paul and his guitar stood front and center. He wore black slacks and a blazer over a skintight turquoise shirt. The “cute one” behind the microphone started bobbing his head when he sang, recreating the matching suit Beatles.

I remember dancing in the stands as the living legend performed Wings’ “Jet,” and recreated some of the pre-Beatles cabaret-type material from the Quarrymen. Sir Paul sang “Drive My Car” and “Feel Fine” before moving to a grand piano in the middle of the grassy field to sing Wings’ “Maybe I’m Amazed,” along with “Fixing a Hole.” New trippy lights were projected onto Paul for a few more Fab favorites, as “The Long and Winding Road” led into “I Will” and “Leaving Home.”

Then my exciting dream in the Delray Beach luxury home got even better. Paul played the first verse of “Yellow Submarine” on an acoustic. He then told a tale of his teenage years growing up with George, but it seemed like he was talking directly to me. The two of us had constant eye contact as he explained how he came up with the original chords for “Blackbird.” While singing the masterpiece off the White Album, Paul messed up the song’s lyrics two different times. Every person at the show laughed at the faux pas, including the talent.

Next, Paul dedicated Wings’ multidimensional “Band on the Run” to me. Without a pause, the complex arrangement suddenly morphed into the Beatles’ medley that included “Penny Lane,” “Eleanor Rigby,” “Good Day Sunshine” and “Back in the USSR.” The 12-minute assortment of goodies ended with the Beatles’ best-selling single, “Hey Jude.” Eight canons appeared in front of the stands and exploded onstage. Disco lights orbited as he performed the James Bond theme, “Live and Let Die.”

He pointed directly at me and winked as if he was presenting the next ditty to me. It was a beautiful acoustic rendition of “Yesterday.” Everyone then danced as Paul told us “get back to where” we once belonged. Paul stole back “Helter Skelter” from both Charles Manson and Bono before he ended my spectacular dream with the mop-top Beatles’ “Please, Please Me.” I had such an incredible dream. Perhaps every fan of the four Brits should look for a home for sale in Delray Beach. I personally experienced Fab dreams like never before.
