Nowadays, there are literally thousands of young high school kids that grow in Fort Myers luxury homes. Many of them are about to embark on the time of their lives when they head away to college. After all, being out of their parents’ houses for the first time can be an absolute blast. You get to live with and mingle with countless other students your own age who share similar interests. And for those students who are fortunate enough to attend a big school here in Florida, attending the football games alone can be phenomenal fun.

Scott White graduated high school in Fort Myers back in the Nineties. While his grades were good enough to get into any college in the state, Scott decided to attend school at Florida State University in Tallahassee. Just about all his friends were already enrolled at FSU. For his freshman year, Scott moved into a giant dorm with hundreds of other students in his class. He immediately made a bunch of new friends who could relate to him better than any of the other kids who he grew up with. While jocks in high school used to pick on Scott for being a book nerd, he was suddenly accepted and honored for his literary knowledge by a new group of friends.

Not unlike Scott, Sally Perkins loves going to school at FSU. Never too popular in high school, she is enjoying all the attention she has been getting by different sororities. Looking around from house to house during Rush Week, Sally made dozens and dozens of new friends her age. Better yet, she received invitations to join six different sororities. Sally never felt so accepted and wanted. It was a tough decision, but she did pick one sorority. Sally now has hundreds of new “sisters,” as well as a full calendar of social events in and around Tallahassee. Sally can even call up “sisters” in her sorority located at any other school around the nation and enjoy a free tour, as well as a place to stay for a night or two.

Finally, there is Eric Johnson. The teenager was ecstatic to leave his home for sale in Fort Myers and head north just to attend FSU football games on the giant field. Getting dressed up in garnet and gold and heading to the enormous stadium on foot was something he had dreamed of for many years. Eric likes to get to the stadium early enough to watch the boys’ practice warm-up drills on the grass for an hour or two. At one the home game against University of Miami Hurricanes, Eric met a young lady from Homestead. The two hit it off and are now a couple. They plan to decorate their wedding with all FSU football gear.

As you can plainly see, there are a number of fantastic reasons to attend Florida State University. Besides, paying in-state tuition at a public school for any Fort Myers real estate can be a blessing. It certainly beats driving home from snowy Boston every winter break.
