Pam Thomson is a 49-year-old mother living on a gorgeous piece of Parkland real estate. Being a heavy metal fan, her favorite record is AC/DC’s Let There Be Rock. The 1977 work is the Australian band’s most well-received cut. The album increased the band’s popularity to new heights with thick a raw, dirty sound, producing such hits as “Whole Lotta Rosie” and “Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be.” Let There Be Rock is also the last AC/DC LP to feature bassist Mark Evans.

Pam’s neighbor who recently purchased a home for sale in Parkland is Alex Murphy. Despite being in his thirties, the man is a huge fan of the Beatles. In fact, he just experienced Sir Paul McCartney perform in Miami just last week. That may be why he currently claims that Paul’s Press to Play album from 1986 is his favorite work since the Fab Four broke up. He talks about the work being released with a contemporary sound. Peaking at #8 in the UK and #30 in America, the singles “Pretty Little Head” and “Only Love Remains” are the most recognized cuts on the Cute One’s solo record.

Besides Sir Paul’s work, Alex also appreciates George Harrison’s solo catalog, including The Concert for Bangladesh. George and some mighty big friends recorded the modern masterpiece at Madison Square Garden on August 1st, 1971. His set entails numbers from his solo work, and the number written for the event, “Bangladesh.” He also sings a few Fab classics never before seen live, including “Here Comes the Sun” and “Something.” George exchanges impressive solos with Eric Clapton during “While My Guitar Gently Weeps.” Bob Dylan, who hadn’t played live in five years, recreates “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall,” “Blowin’ In the Wind,” and “Just Like a Woman.” Billy Preston sings the extended gospel number, “That the Way God Planned It,” and Ringo even plays some drums for his mates and sings “It Don’t Come Easy.”

Take a look at Ringo performing “It Don’t Come Easy” at The Concert for Bangladesh.

Alex’s co-worker Ross Stein is a 41-year-old executive who lives nearby in a Parkland luxury home of his own. Ross has a strong affection for Motown music, such as Diana Ross & The Supremes. The businessman claims the band’s Let the Sunshine and its singles, “I’m Livin’ In Shame,” “The Composer,” and Berry Gordy’s pop/funk “No Matter What Sign You Are” are top notch. The tracks have each been covered numerous times by other artists, making each one timeless.

Ross’s wife, Jill, loves her record collection as well. Of course, she prefers classic rock and roll, such as Woodstock Two. It is the second live release of the legendary concert in 1969. Originally released in 1971 as a double LP set, the three days of muddy fun and music features a tamer sound than the first, with a lot of acoustic, folk, ballads, and blues pieces. Highlights include Jefferson Airplane and Crosby, Stills, Nash And Young’s “Guinnevere,” and of course Jimi Hendrix. Listening to man perform ““Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” puts a lump in the man’s throat every time.

Speaking of Woodstock, Jill also loves her Hendrix albums. Her favorite is The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s Electric Ladyland. The double-album stands as the peak of the man’s mastery of the guitar. Performing a cover of Dylan’s “All Along the Watchtower,” along with the awe-inspiring “Voodoo Child (Slight Return),” it’s a landmark for both radio and guitar repertoire. The Jimi Hendrix Experience’s 1968 record may be their last together, but it will never grow out of date.
