In today’s world of online shopping from the palms of men and women’s hands, it takes mere seconds to find a match. Some turn into 10-second chats, while others lead to dates. With a little luck, some evolve into real relationships. Every now and then, folks get lucky and they find the right match for one another on dating sites.

Sam Waters is a 29-year old sales rep who lived alone in a small piece of Fort Myers real estate last year. Fed up with meeting women on the bar scene, Sam decided to sign up for a free trial on a popular internet dating website. Not expecting it to go anywhere, he was reluctant to supply his photo and personal information online. For instance, would expressing his religious beliefs and future hopes for parenting really help match him with Ms. Right? After staying in one too many Friday nights, Sam felt lonely enough to share it all on the dating website.

Within minutes, Sam was matched with dozens of women who fell in line with his preferences. Nothing was set in stone, but he was looking to date a lady between 25 and 35-years-old. While he had no religious concerns, he preferred a woman who had never been married and had no children. It was also important to Sam that she didn’t live further than 50 miles or so from his home for sale in Fort Myers. After all, long distance relationships are simply too difficult. Finally, Sam refused to date a smoker. Not only would her breath and her clothes stink, but he had seen the damage cigarettes had done to his late father.

Within 20 minutes of scrolling the website for attractive photos and fun-sounding profiles, Sam pinpointed one young lady who sounded ideal. Not only was Mary extremely attractive, but she was also his age. And as a bonus, she lived nearby. All he had to do was send Mary a “wink” to let her know he was interested. Amazingly, she winked back at him within a couple minutes. Sam was too filled with excitement to play his cool. He emailed her right away. The email sessions quickly led to a phone call. Within an hour, Sam and Mary had a date for the following night.

Even though Sam was so excited he could hardly sleep on Friday night, he was thrilled when Saturday night rolled around. The man got a haircut and even bought a new Polo shirt in preparation for the big date. After meeting at an expensive steak house, Sam and Mary chatted at their table for a couple hours. Rather than ordering ice cream for dessert or going to a bar for drinks after leaving the restaurant, Sam and Mary strolled along Fort Myers Beach. While Sam was successful at holding Mary’s hand on the sand, he was hesitant to kiss her. Fortunately, Mary was forward enough to make the first move. The two made out on the beach under a beautiful full moon.

Six months later, Sam and Mary are planning on buying a Fort Myers luxury home together before getting married and starting a family. And they owe it all to the dating website.
