Every March 23rd, Palm Beach Gardens real estate owners have a blast celebrating the National Puppy Day. Folks from all over South Florida, as well as the rest of the nation, recognize dogs of all sizes, colors, and breeds. Just take a look on social media for the hashtag #NationalPuppyDay and you will see some memorable photos and videos thank are sure to bring a smile to your face.

Alan Schultz is a 41-year-old businessman who lives in a gorgeous home for sale in Palm Beach Gardens with his wife and American Eskimo, Charlie. Every time he looks at Charlie, he sees memories of his childhood pet of the same breed, Pooky. At age 15. Alan and his family were having a night out for dinner at a local shopping center in Boca Raton. While waiting for their table, Alan went for a casual stroll around the shopping center. That’s when he saw her. Weighing no more than 6 pounds at the time, a pair of innocent black eyes stared up at him through the window. Locked in a dog cage, the puppy for sale made Alan’s heart skip a beat. It was love at first sight. It took two days’ worth of pleading with his parents, but Alan eventually convinced them to let him buy the canine. Pooky became his partner in crime throughout high school, college and even graduate school.

Also celebrating National Puppy Day is Sara Jenkins, a school guidance counselor with a few Palm Beach Gardens homes for sale. Sara’s husband recently surprised her with an enormous golden retriever, Taco. For years, she had been pleading with her husband to get a dog, but he was too concerned with the children. “We have our hands full,” he used to gripe while complaining about the additional time and money a dog would cost the family. Apparently, the man recently had a change of heart. Taco is now part of the family. The four-legged beast now sleeps in the master bedroom with his mom and dad. In fact, he somehow works his way to the center of the bed, pushing his way between Sara and her hubby. They yell at him to move and try their best to push the mammoth dog onto the floor. However, Taco refuses to budge. Eventually, Sara and her man give up and just sleep around Taco. In other words, the dog wins every night.

Her canine may not be as large as Taco, but Pam Green’s Shih Tzu, Missy, is still a handful. Living in Palm Beach Gardens luxury home with mom, dad, and three children, Missy is the queen of her house. She knows when it is time to be fed every morning. If anyone sleeps in more than 1 minute late, Missy will jump on the bed and bark as a reminder. If 2 minutes go by, the dog will begin howling, as if she is in sheer pain. Eventually, somebody in the house will get up to feed the dog breakfast. Dogs are the best!
