There is no question that thousands of Boynton Beach real estate owners appreciate classic rock, as well as Nineties grunge. That’s why so many folks appreciate a couple of music-related books, ranging in subject matter from Jim Morrison’s grave in France to Kurt Cobain’s childhood.

The highly informative book from 2005, Stairway to Heaven: The Final Resting Places of Rocks Legends, memorializes rock’s greatest icons that have passed away.  Writers J.D. Reed and Maddy Miller utilize artful photos of graves and memorials and new information on timeless celebrities’ elegant lives and sometimes tragic deaths.   The who’s who of the industry covers several genres, ranging from country singers Johnny Cash and the blues’ Muddy Waters to punk’s Sid Vicious and immortal rappers, such as Run D.M.C.’s Jam Master Jay.  Of course, classic rock’s immortals, such as Lennon, Harrison, Hendrix, and the mighty Zeppelin’s John Bonham are included as well.  Tales of their deaths and legacies left behind, from the King himself to the Lizard King’s site in Paris.  Altogether, there are almost one hundred different artists’ gravesites discussed in the 160-page piece of nonfiction.

Stairway to Heaven’s authors present new information that is extremely interesting to any music fan, backed by beautiful photography.  Unfortunately, Stairway does not contain directions to getting to the sites around the globe.  Readers may also wish the listings were put in some kind of order, perhaps by the time of death, alphabetically, or by location, rather than having to search through to find one in particular page.  Regardless, Stairway to Heaven is a fascinating read for music fans of all ages.  As the headstone of Blues Brother John Belushi reads; I may be gone, but Rock & Roll lives on.

Published just a couple years later, Nirvana: The Biography comes across as the definitive history of the world-changing trio to many folks with homes for sale in Boynton Beach.  Totaling a phenomenal 608 pages, writer Everett True discussed every detail of his friend, Kurt Cobain, from his troubled childhood, to just before grunge broke into your living room, to when the journalist introduced the singer to Courtney Love.  There were times on the road when they all partied like true rock stars.  The most touching part of Nirvana: The Biography is the introduction, delving into the young icon’s troubled childhood when his folks got divorced.  It is obvious how much the reporter loved spending time with the band after they reached the highest plateaus of fame, involving too much money and even more amounts of heroin.

There are also surprising parts that expose Cobain as both funny and honest.  For example, readers may appreciate the singer’s lack of love for tie-dyed shirts, as well as the movie based on the Seattle music-scene, Singles.  True also rips apart MTV, referring to it as the true enemy.  Unfortunately, it’s a drag that there’s so little info offered in this whopping collection on the man’s band mates, Krist Novoselic and the Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl.  Nirvana: The Biography makes for interesting reading for Boynton Beach luxury homeowners just the same.
