If there is one thing that just about every family living in South Florida appreciates, it is a family dog. Canines come in all sizes and colors, as well as personalities. Some folks living in Miami-Dade County have enormous Rottweilers, while retired folks often carry around Toy Poodles in their hands. Let’s take a look at some of the most interesting puppies.

Chris Reynolds is a 42-year-old music teacher who lives in a piece of gorgeous Coral Gables real estate. He has always had a strong affection for Golden Retrievers. In fact, Chris brought a Golden Retriever named Samson up to college at Florida State University with him. Every Saturday during football season, he would get Samson dressed up in garnet and gold. Chris and his friends would then tailgate for hours with Samson hanging in the back of his pick-up truck. Hundreds, if not thousands of students would walk by, see the dog dressed up for the game, and stop to get his or her picture taken. For homecoming every year, Chris would then make a collage of the best photos and share it all over different social media sites. Needless to say, Chris and Samson made plenty of friends all over the web.

She may not be as popular as Samson among college students, but Missy is loved just the same. The 12-pound Toy Poodle was found at a pound in Miami about a year ago. Being abused, she was quite timid when her new owner, Julie Lyons brought her back to her little apartment. At first, Missy wouldn’t come out of the closet. In fact, she tried to hide in the corner for as long as she could. Within two weeks or so, Missy build up the courage to hang out in front of the apartment’s living room window. Now she stands guard in the window all day long. If anybody, from the neighbor to the mailman, walks by, she barks her little head off. The dog just wants people passing by to know who is the queen of the castle. Just think of the money that Julie has saved on a security alarm.

Rick Grossman is a 57-year-old man who never had a dog in his life. He and his family always saw them as dirty animals. However, a friend recently bought him a yellow Labrador Retriever named Ty after Rick went through an ugly divorce. At first, the man was hesitant to let the animal into his Coral Gables luxury home. But within a week or two, Rick warmed up to Ty and has made a complete 180 when it comes to appreciating the four-legged creatures. In fact, Rick sleeps with Ty, as well as takes him running every morning. When the weekend rolls around, they go playing at the local dog park for hours at a time. Nowadays, Rick simply could not imagine his life without his best friend, his playful Lab. If only Rick had found the dog years ago, he wouldn’t have gotten married, which would’ve saved him plenty of time, money, and heartbreak.
