Why do people continue moving to Florida? There actually are multiple reasons why retirees want to spend their golden years in the Sunshine State but the allure of Florida spans generations, home states, ethnic lines and religious affiliations.

Florida is far and away the most searched for state and for some very solid reasons.

Taxes: No state income tax, no inheritance tax or estate tax. Is there any reason why anyone should live in a state that is going to charge you taxes when you can live in a state that doesn’t?

Climate: The average high temperature in the Sunshine State is 81 degrees Fahrenheit (27 C). The average annual low temperature remains 60 degrees Fahrenheit (16 C). Although many want to lump Florida in with Southern states serious heat, the state is actually more temperate. Temperatures in the summer are usually less high than most other Southern states and Northern states.

Cost of Living: Depending where you choose to live in Florida, could drastically affect the cost of living. Miami is not the best choice when considering your daily costs. In fact, Bloomberg Business ranked Miami as the hardest city for millennials to pay rent because of affordability.

But Florida is a big state and there many cities and town that you will be able to experience an average or below average cost of living in Florida.

Beaches: Gorgeous beaches on both sides of the state invite those looking for resort style living to the peninsula state. The Atlantic Ocean with its crystal clean Caribbean blue waters provide snorkelers and scuba divers with an everyday treat, while the white sands on the Gulf of Mexico await sun bathers and beach walkers to sink their toes in.

From Port St. Lucie homes for sale on the Atlantic side to Cape Coral luxury homes on the Gulf of Mexico, those most interested in moving to a coastal location will have lots of options all along the coast.

Recreation: Besides the seaside fun, there are many other recreational activities that entice residents to stay active. There are loads of lakes and canals all around the state that provide free entertainment for boaters and those who enjoy fishing. Water sports and their accompanying gear are everywhere so you can rent and play, or buy and stay!

With over 1,300 golf courses, it is a true paradise for those who like swinging the iron.

And because the weather is appealing, Florida gives its residents a chance to bike, walk, run, and join in for a game of Pickleball almost any day of the week.

Orlando: Talk about recreation, Orlando is in and of itself a great vacation destination. When you are living in the state, you are only hours away from a quick drive to Disney World, Universal Studios, Sea World, and so much more. Many of the parks offer Florida resident discounts, so get ready for some really good times in Orlando!

Great Homes: Location, location, location. If Orlando is the place you want to be near, then look into Oviedo real estate or Windermere FL real estate.
