Palm Beach Gardens real estate owners have discovered The U.S. vs. John Lennon soundtrack is better than the original documentary, but it is still no Anthology or Imagine soundtrack. David Leaf’s provocative documentary, The U.S. vs. John Lennon, examining the icon’s involvement in peace efforts. But the soundtrack of the legend’s singles is now available. The CD ceases to be a simple collection of outtakes like the Anthologies or Acoustic. Nor is the disc a career-spanning retrospective like the Imagine: John Lennon soundtrack or one of his many greatest-hits collections. Rather, it sticks to the idealistic theme. Lennon is portrayed as the peace activist, the leftist, and as a disillusioned man, head over heels for Yoko Ono. With a majority of the tracks dated from 1969 to 1972, most of the numbers are off of Plastic Ono Band and Imagine.

Men and women with homes for sale in Palm Beach Gardens have found that The U.S. vs. John Lennon features classics, such as “Nobody Told Me” and “Instant Karma.” The sarcastic “Working Class Hero” is a self-portrait of a cynical John. He explains that his dreams have come true, but he has realized that his dreams were merely illusions.  John also criticizes societies’ classes, as well the media for commercializing sexuality and drugs in the song. “Love” is a tender ballad consisting of an uncomplicated, but an exquisite piano line. John once referred to the song as a composition he considers as memorable as anything ever recorded with the Beatles. Perhaps the most widely revered of all of his singles, “Imagine” is John’s quest for world peace.

“God” is John’s explicit exposition of his outlook of the world in 1970, just two months before the Beatles officially broke up. He offers a list of concepts and false idols in which he no longer believed in. “I don’t believe in Beatles” is perhaps the most notable verse. The song concludes with his cold statement of faith in himself; “I just believe in me.” Less popular tracks include “I Found Out” and “Scared,” both from the time when he was struggling to reside legally in the U.S.

Favorites not found on The U.S. vs. John Lennon soundtrack include “Cold Turkey,” “Mother,” “Whatever Gets You Through the Night” and “Watching the Wheels.” The one Fab track present for Palm Beach Gardens luxury homeowners to enjoy is “The Ballad of John and Yoko.” The only new material buyers will hear is “How Do You Sleep” with the vocals removed, but featuring George Harrison’s guest spot on slide guitar.

As stated previously, the soundtrack is still no Imagine soundtrack or Anthology. 1998’s Beatles Anthology box set includes seven previously unreleased selections, including three live tracks from the early 70s. The soundtrack that should be in every Palm Beach Gardens luxury home goes to the extremely well-received Beatles’ Anthology, a lengthy documentary video of the Fab Four and the multi-volume release of Beatles outtakes and rarities. The financial success of the Beatles’ Anthology made Sir Paul McCartney the single wealthiest individual in the U.K.
