Just about every Windermere real estate owner appreciates quality movies about cars. They are well-made and extremely entertaining. Let’s look at a few of the most popular automobile-themed DVDs found in Windermere luxury homes.

In 2000’s PG-13 Gone in 60 Seconds, Nicolas Cage is a notorious, yet retired car thief in Los Angeles. He stole merely for his love of the machines, rather than the money. But a bad guy makes the professional steal 50 hot rods in four days or his brother will be killed. With a little help from some first-rate friends, including Days of Thunder’s Robert Duvall and a blonde-haired Angelina Jolie, the team grabs only the finest roadsters ever made, both new and classic models, topped with impossible chases. The collection of amazing muscle cars, entailing Ferraris, Mercedes, Lamborghinis, and so forth is truly a beautiful sight. Otherwise, Gone in 60 Seconds is a wreck with its predictable script, generic instrumental soundtrack, and cheesy one-liners.

Sticking with a similar theme about Los Angeles’ illegal street-racing culture, The Fast and the Furious doesn’t have much to offer for adults. Neither the actors nor the “Detroit Muscle” compare to those from the PG-13 Gone in 60 Seconds. Numerous sequels have been released since 2001’s original about “race wars.” Rather than speed demon Vin Diesel and the late Paul Walker on the bill, the stars of the film are merely the flashy vehicles along the Pacific Coast Highway.

Living life in the computer-animated fast lane, Disney-Pixar delivered the G-rated Cars in 2006. In a world of talking machines, Owen Wilson supplies the voice of rookie racer Lightning McQueen, a precious instrument with speed and aerodynamics. On his way to L.A. to compete in the Piston Cup, the arrogant hot rod gets stranded in the hillbilly town of Radiator Springs. After tearing up their main road, he gets sentenced to repairing the damage. Before long, a love interest grows with a Porsche Carrera, and Paul Newman is the old and wise mentor that won three Piston Cups in his day. Sharing the road with Cheech Marin, the late George Carlin is a VW burn-out that respects organic fuel, as well as Hendrix. Finally, an old pick-up truck, Larry the Cable Guy, becomes Lightning’s best buddy.

Released the same year, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby on DVD is unrated, but just think of it as an R picture with foul language here and there. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly are childhood friends on today’s NASCAR circuit. The driver eventually loses his license and ends up delivering pizzas on his Huffy, followed by a public bus. Dale Earnhardt makes a guest appearance soon after Ricky signs a baby’s forehead. Watch for the French villain on the track, the excellent Sacha Baron Cohen. Even the credits’ outtakes are worth watching in your home for sale in Windermere, Talladega Nights is great fun.

With such a superb selection to choose from, race to watch the most phenomenal DVDs based on man’s favorite mode of transportation in your Windermere home for sale.
