As far too many single men and women already know, finding an ideal match is easier said than done. It makes no difference if you normally try to meet that special someone on an internet dating site, at a bar, or through a mutual friend, finding a connection can be nearly impossible these days. After all, few people tell the truth upon their first encounters. Let’s take a good look at some of the most memorable dates experienced by Coral Gables real estate owners.

Marni Simpkins was a recently divorced 36-year-old woman trying to get back on the market. She had no children, a wonderful job, and was extremely attractive. One would expect her to have no trouble finding an ideal match. Unfortunately, that just wasn’t the case. It all started the night her divorce became final. Her best girlfriend took her out to a bar to celebrate. Right away, every Tom, Dick, and Harry was trying to buy her a drink. The few times Marni did allow a guy to sit down and chat with her, he would ask her basic questions about her dating status and employment. But no one really seemed to listen to her answers. She could’ve said absolutely anything and nobody would’ve been the wiser. All the men wanted was to talk about themselves in a futile effort to impress the woman. When they asked for her phone number, Marni made sure to give a fictitious one every time.

That’s when Marni decided to cut out the small talk and discover potential dates online from her home for sale in Coral Gables. Rather than hearing “Do you come here often” in a bar or dance club, she could read men’s profiles to decide if she liked their backgrounds, hobbies, and aspirations before talking on the phone or meeting in public for an actual date. However, most of the fellas she chatted with had a hard time telling the truth. One gent looked like a 25-year-old athlete in his photo, but looked more like a bald-headed 45-year-old in person. Another guy claimed to be 5’10 but barely made it up to her chest. What was wrong with these people? Didn’t they realize their dates would figure out they were full of bologna as soon as they met?

Even when Marni’s coworker tried to fix her up with a mutual friend, things went sour. After meeting out at a fancy Italian restaurant, the gentleman seemed to have a problem with the way his meal was cooked. Okay, no big deal, right? Wrong. He actually yelled at the waiter and sent it back. Everyone in the restaurant was looking. As a result, the manager came over. Marni’s date proceeded to yell at him even louder simply because he didn’t care for the way his pasta was cooked. She would’ve gotten up and left, but that may have caused an even bigger scene. But Marni did spend plenty of time in the restroom. That’s when a “sudden headache” took over and Marni had to drive directly to her Coral Gables luxury home after the meal. Marni would rather be single than matched up with a liar or a lunatic.
