It doesn’t matter if you are a man or a woman, just like it makes no difference if you were born in the Fifties or the Nineties. Palm Beach Gardens real estate owners simply love their art on vinyl. Genres often heard in South Florida’s most beautiful homes range from heavy rock, like the mighty Led Zeppelin to a softer side of harmonies, such as Simon and Garfunkel. Let’s take a look at some of the most appreciated in homes.

Michael Levy is a 43-year-old New Yorker who recently purchased a gorgeous home for sale in Palm Beach Gardens. After all, he now has been a highly successful career as a physical therapist throughout Palm Beach County. Michael’s favorite LP must be Billy Joel’s 1978’s cut, 52nd Street. After all, the album has memorable singles, such as “My Life,” the upbeat “Big Shot” and “Rosalinda’s Eyes,” as well as the arty “Zanzibar.” Featuring trumpet solos and love songs, the album is a truly transcendent piece of work.

If Mike had to pick his favorite single by Billy Joel, it would be “Piano Man.” Yet, his favorite song of all time is American Pie. The eight-and-a-half minute long single by Don McLean about “the day the music died” is rather popular on radio stations four decades later. Released on the album of the same name, the single was a number-one U.S. hit for four weeks in 1972. The historical number discusses the deaths of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J. P. Richardson, Jr.

Michael works with a woman who is a few years younger, Beth Cohen. Beth grew up as the youngest girl in a house of four daughters. Her oldest sister, Nancy, used to play Depeche Mode’s New Life for hours at a time, day after day, month after month. “New Life” is the second UK single by Depeche Mode, originally released in 1981. The B-Side, “Shout,” is the first Depeche Mode song to get a 12″ extended remix, called the “Rio Mix.” The cut didn’t earn commercial success until it was released in the United States, reaching #11 on the Billboard charts. Beth only knows this because her sister used to educate her on a regular basis, whether Beth wanted to know the information or not.

Coming from another sister’s stereo, Beth heard plenty of Jimmy Buffet. Utilizing a mixture of country influenced, calypso Gulf stream beats with some wild lyrics, the man’s Riddles in the Sand shows his sensitive grasp of the world in 1984. Beth was taught that the record captures a humorous side of the artist with numbers such as “Come to The Moon,” “Rag Top Day,” and the stunning “When the Wild Life Betrays Me.”

Finally, Beth was exposed to Little Queen in her Palm Beach Gardens luxury home. The second album was released by the two sisters who make up Heart. Cut in 1977, the LP portrays “Barracuda,” “Kick It Out” and the funky “Little Queen,” along with some acoustic numbers. With so many influences coming out of the bedrooms in Beth’s childhood home, it is no wonder that her record collection is so eccentric.
