Delray Beach real estate owners are in for quite a treat, as Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers will be playing their 40th Anniversary Tour at Perfect Vodka Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach on Friday, May 5th. To get ready for the spectacular concert, every Delray Beach real estate owner should enjoy watching the timeless DVD, Runnin’ Down A Dream.

Chris Thomas is a 41-year-old businessman who owns a couple homes for sale in Delray Beach. Watching the flick in his favorite Delray Beach home for sale, Chris loves that Runnin’ Down A Dream kicks off with a live version of “Wreck Me” from their homecoming concert in Gainesville in September of 2006.

Sitting in the Delray Beach luxury home, Chris noted the big-name stars discussing the band and its positive effects on the industry. Director Peter Bogdanovich interviews Eddie Vedder, Rick Rubin, Jackson Browne, and Dave Grohl of Nirvana and the Foo Fighters. Delray Beach real estate owners love when Stevie Nicks says she would’ve left Fleetwood Mac to join the Heartbreaks in the late 70s. Another favorite part among Delray Beach real estate owners is when George Harrison chats about Tom’s fantastic and unusual lyrics, and Johnny Depp claims that Petty’s music defies any kind of category.

Pulling from over 300 hours of archival footage, some on 8mm tape, Runnin’ Down A Dream is the definitive collection of documentary material mixed with live concert videos dating back 30 years for a Delray Beach real estate owner’s library. Petty opens up to the camera about being born in the South in 1950. He was completely dumbstruck after watching an Elvis flick. “The music just hypnotized me,” he tells Delray Beach real estate owners watching the film.

Tom Petty was a teenager in February of 1964 when the Beatles changed the culture by playing live on Sullivan. “It all became clear,” Delray Beach real estate owners hear him say. “This is what I’m gonna do.”

Runnin’ Down A Dream tracks the earliest days of the musicians. The first band was known as the Sundowners, followed by the Epics. Then they became Mudcrutch. Tom Petty tells viewers about meeting Mike Campbell and their immediate chemistry. He had to convince the lead guitarist to quit school and commit to the group. Petty and the boys built their own festival in Gainesville before the boys strapped together the cash to drive from North Florida to Hollywood. The rest is history, from making it big and filing for bankruptcy, to joining the Traveling Wilburys and cutting a solo album.

The third DVD shows Delray Beach real estate owners the Heartbreakers’ celebrated 30th Anniversary Concert in their Gainesville. Delray Beach real estate owners’ favorite parts the 20-song set include “I Won’t Back Down,” “Free Fallin’,” “Learning To Fly,” and “Runnin’ Down A Dream.” Delray Beach real estate owners also get a kick out of a CD of audio rarities. Treats include “American Girl” at a show in 1980 and “Honey Bee” performed on SNL in 1994.  The beautiful package is well worth a Delray Beach real estate owner’s time and money.
