Looking for some animated entertainment to enjoy at your Oviedo real estate? Twenty years in the making and 400 episodes later, The Simpsons Movie was released one full decade ago.  The 90-minute film is an exceptional cartoon made for adults, featuring some quality cameos, including Albert Brooks, Tom Hanks, and Green Day.  During the intro song, Bart’s repeated phrase written on the chalkboard is brilliant; “I will not illegally download this movie.”

The theme of The Simpsons focuses on the environment.  Green Day is performing on a boat at Lake Springfield while the water’s pollution eats away at their vessel, and the floating stage sinks just like the Titanic.  Meanwhile, Lisa befriends Colin, an Irish lad.  “Not every Irish musician’s son has a Dad called Bono,” he explains in the film.  The young pair holds a seminar entitled “An Irritating Truth,” mocking Al Gore’s documentary.

Bart gets arrested for public indecency after Homer dares him to skateboard naked.  Homer then takes home a pig as his personal pet.  He packs the animal’s waste into a giant silo that moron dumps it into the newly cleaned up lake.  As a result, the clueless President Schwarzenegger is coerced into placing a giant glass dome over the city.  But the Simpsons manage to escape through a sinkhole.  Homer manages to ride a motorcycle around a 180-degree ramp in a new town’s fair, winning enough dough to relocate the family to Alaska.  Marge and the kids decide that they need to return to Springfield and save their neighbors.  But Homer won’t hear of it.  So, Marge notifies her husband that she and the family are leaving him on a videotaped over their wedding.  The brutal action causes Homer’s epiphany, and he returns to Springfield to help save the town from destruction in an adventurous manner.  He is successful, reunited with his wife, and normal life is restored.  Before long, Homer will be strangling the boy again and downing some more jelly donuts… DOH!

A younger crowd of spectators in homes for sale in Oviedo can enjoy 2007’s Shrek the Third.  When the king of Far Far Away croaks, Shrek is next in line to rule the land since his marriage to the royal Fiona.  But it’s a job that the smelly ogre does not care for.  As a result, he forces the poor old frog to come up with a plan B before he croaks.  It’s an underachieving high school slacker named Arthur, whom Shrek and his mates go off to find.  At the same time, the foul beast is having trouble getting used to married life when Fiona gets knocked up.  As always, the film’s greatest asset is its handful of celebrity voices, ranging from the multi-talented Mike Myers and Eddie Murphy to Cameron Diaz, Antonio Banderas, Justin Timberlake, and Monty Python’s John Cleese.

The evil Prince Charming is still plotting against Shrek for marrying his girl.  This time around, Oviedo luxury homeowners and their children see him convince a mob to take back the Far Far Away kingdom.
