Oviedo real estate owners tend to appreciate their classic rock, such as “Ramble On.” Stemming from 1969’s immortal Led Zeppelin II, exercising diversity in both songwriting and recording, the song draws lyrics from J.R.R. Tolkien’s celebrated Lord of the Rings trilogy. Cut at New York City’s Juggy Sound Studio, the number shows the softer acoustic side of the metal gods. The single discusses a man’s rounding the world to find the right girl, as it emphasizes Jimmy Page’s influences from Arabic/North African music. He actually plays with an Egyptian violin. In “Ramble On,” the mighty Zeppelin deviates from their original intensity, but without losing a hair of melodic or lyrical expertise.

In the introduction, Jimmy Page utilizes regular guitar strings superimposed higher on a thin, long strip of wood known as a fretboard. There is tight interaction between John Paul Jones on the bass and the magical touches of John Bonham’s drums. Rather than bongos, Bonzo was hitting a plastic bin, while Plant sings his tale, “Now I smell the rain and with it pain.”

Even if men and women with Oviedo luxury homes never saw it performed on stage by the original quartet, “Ramble On” has been experienced in different concerts for years. A portion of the number was heard half-way through “Babe I’m Gonna Leave You” at a show in Toronto on November 2nd, 1969. In 1992, Dread Zeppelin began reenacting the track. The singer dresses and sounds like Elvis with a goatee. At the same time, steal reggae beats are created in the background. Plant calls Dread Zeppelin his personal favorite cover band, claiming their adaptations are “Great stuff, marvelous.” Five years later, Jason Bonham, son of the legendary drummer Bonzo, created “Ramble On” as part of his 1997 album, In the Name of My Father – The Zepset.

Dread Zeppelin offers the song on their album No Quarter Pounder. A shorthaired Page and Plant deliver a passionate remake of “Ramble On” during a 1998 tour for the duo’s second CD Walking into Clarksdale. Plant also did the timeless selection at the Dubai Desert Rock Fest 2007. Also, hundreds of tribute bands around the globe have offered their interpretations of the tune. In fact, the groups Zoso and Led Zeppelin 2 who are presently on the road overwhelm audiences with their versions of “Ramble On.”

Other references to the work of Tolkien exist throughout the Led Zeppelin catalog, including bits of “Bron-Y-Aur Stomp,” “The Battle of Evermore” and “Misty Mountain Hop.” Yet, it was “Ramble On” that made Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time in 2004. However, many men and women with homes for sale in Oviedo think it’s severely under ranked at #433. Interested parties can view a handful of live takes and covers, along with the original set to slide shows and animated videos on YouTube. There’s a cartoon of The Hobbit, along with impressive cinematography of The Fellowship of the Ring. When should you check it out? Now’s the time. The time is now.
