Right smack in the middle of Fort Myers lies a beautiful neighborhood with a handful of young families. For the last few years, they all get together on Halloween to take the kids trick or treating. While it is always fun to judge which kids have the best costumes, the moms and dads have recently joined the fun. Check out some of the nuttiest and more creative Halloween costumes to be worn this year by Fort Myers real estate owners.

For starters, there is a 42-year-old man named David. He has the perfect costume, Dr. Evil, the hilarious villain from the Austin Powers movies. David was excited to shave his head completely bald. Then he wore a grey suit, not unlike actor Michael Myers portraying the funny man. David placed a giant ring on his pinky finger and held it to his lip. To top it all off, he borrowed his neighbor’s white cat and carried it around in his arm, not unlike Dr. Evil imitating an infamous Bond character.

Living two houses down from David is Todd. While Todd certainly appreciated David’s costume, he believes that his is far superior. Looking like Chevy Chase in the Eighties, Todd is planning to walk his kids around dressed up as Fletch. But Todd won’t look like the investigative reporter in just any scene. He is going all out with a wig. Dressed like a professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers, Todd will represent Fletch standing 6’5’, 6’9” with afro. He even had a Lakers jersey printed up for Halloween this year. Todd will win the best costume contest with ease, as he is much more memorable than his competition.

But it may not be so easy. Living across the street from Todd is Joe and Judy. The New Yorkers just purchased a large home for sale in Fort Myers. Always up for a laugh, Joe and Judy and their three children of various ages all dressed up as Prince Akeem Joffer’s royal family, otherwise known as Eddie Murphy’s family in the modern classic Coming to America. Joe will be the king, Jaffe Joffer, with a crown of jewels and a tiger’s head wrapped over his shoulder. His 11-year-old son will be dressed the same in all black to portray Eddie. Mom will have her hair wrapped up beautifully in a golden scarf, not unlike the queen of the fictional Zamunda. The 13-year-old daughter will dress up as a fast food clerk at McDowell’s. The teenage boy will be dressed as a nightclub singer, Randy Watson, in a blue suit from the Seventies. Finally, the teenager’s best friend plans on dressing up as the old man in the barber shop defending Mohamed Ali’s American right to change his name to whatever he wants. “You should respect his wishes, and call the man Mohamed Ali.”

Needless to say, every man, woman, and child living in this particular neighborhood of Fort Myers luxury homes takes full advantage of the potential fun that can be had on October 31st. Too bad their children don’t think it is so cool.
