Some folks enjoy lighting off fireworks around their neighborhoods, while many others simply enjoying watching them go off from the comfort of their backyards. Many Melbourne / Space Coast real estate owners venture to the beach, while thousands use the day to barbecue burgers and franks in their backyards. There are even some folks who dislike the holiday and are forced to stay indoors to comfort their frightened babies and dogs while the noisy fireworks light up the sky. Whatever the case may be, you can find it all throughout various South Florida neighborhoods every year on the 4th of July.

Pam Black is a retired travel agent who lives in a beautiful home along a lake. To celebrate the occasion, Pam and her boyfriend invite over their friends and family every year. She asks everybody to bring something special, whether it is a salad or potato chips, or even apple pie for dessert. Pam’s son, Ted, makes it a point to bring over Mexican beer every year, despite the national holiday. Yesterday, Ted purchased a case of Dos XX but decided to add to the occasion. Ted picked up a bottle of Bacardi Rum. Fortunately, nobody seemed to mind, including Ted’s wife, a.k.a. the designated driver.

Pam also invited over one of her best friends, Sandy. For a few years now, Sandy has been dating a know-it-all from Manhattan. Regardless of the topic, he seems to have experience in any topic that is brought up. If Pam and Sandy are discussing shopping, he can tell you where to go and how to get the best price. If Ted wants to see a doctor, Sandy’s boyfriend knows the best physician from Key West to Niagara Falls. If anyone’s car breaks down, who do you think knows the best mechanic in all South Florida? But the man’s words don’t mean anything, as he just tries to impress everybody. But they continually roll their eyes at him.

Then there is Maria, Pam’s daughter-in-law who recently purchased a gorgeous home for sale in Melbourne / Space Coast. Maria is always the life of the party. Within minutes, the woman was stripped down to her bikini and swimming in Pam’s pool, even if she was alone. When getting out, she made the perfect drinking buddy for Ted. In fact, the two of them began singing and dancing along with the karaoke machine.

Next door to Pam, David, and his buddy Doug were setting off giant fireworks all night. She calls them immature for men in their forties. They were big and they were loud. Sure, it was fun for the first hour or two. But after 11 pm, Maria and many other neighbors were fed up. One kid in his twenties, Angel, even ran outside yelling at David and Doug to grow up and go to bed. I guess that did the trick because the fireworks eventually died down and the neighborhood got back to bed. I wonder how the Space Coast luxury homeowners will celebrate Independence Day next year?
