Marcus Vette is a successful businessman who recently moved into a gorgeous piece of Melbourne / Space Coast real estate with his wife and two daughters. For decades, the guitar player has loved Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band. Marcus holds the highest regards for the ensemble’s talented guitarist, Little Steven Van Zandt. He used to watch his every week on The Sopranos, and still enjoys his radio show on Sirius/XM.

Little Steven also made one of Marcus’ personal favorite albums. Little Steven Van Zandt’s Freedom – No Compromise is a full-on dance-rock record from 1987 that centers on U.S. politics. Springsteen even joins Van Zandt on lead vocals on “Native American.” Unfortunately, martial from the cut was not heard last week when Little Steven played to thousands at Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale. Regardless, Marcus still had the time of his life.

Looking back at the concert, the man with a beautiful home for sale in Melbourne / Space Coast had not had so much fun dancing all night at a concert since the late Joe Cocker opened for the Steve Miller Band in the 2000s. Marcus will never forget standing on his seat during Cocker’s amazing cover of “With A Little Help from My Friends.” The Beatles cover and the 1969 LP by the same name are fantastic, as spectacular guitar and keyboards complimented his unique voice.

Every time Marcus thinks of his childhood vinyl collection, he smiles at the thought of his older sister’s overly obsessive love for the Eighties’ pop star Pat Benatar. Like it or not, he spent hours in his sister’s car listening to her 1981 cut Precious Time. The work peaked at #1 on the Billboard chart. Also, the album’s lead single, “Fire and Ice” won Benatar her second Grammy Award for Best Female Rock Performance. Considerably noteworthy is her cover of “Helter Skelter.” But Marcus still prefers U2’s version from their Rattle and Hum album. Just don’t tell that to big sister.

On Friday of this week, November 10, Marcus will be driving down from his Melbourne / Space Coast luxury home to Boca Raton to hear the music of Jethro Tull performed by Ian Anderson. The lead singer will play radio hits for thousands of ticketholders, as well as fortune shoppers at Mizner Park Amphitheater. In fact, Marcus’ mother, Penny, lives near the amphitheater in a wonderful home on the water. She will be bringing a folding beach chair and setting herself up by a fountain in between the fancy stores to hear the show from a few hundred yards away.

Penny only wishes she could be seeing Marvin Gaye in concert. She knows every word to the late Motown singer’s final studio album, Midnight Love. In fact, Marcus may have been conceived when the album hit the public in 1972 with the hit single “Sexual Healing.” The cut rose to #1 on the R&B album charts for eight weeks and #7 on the pop album charts, and sold over 6 million copies sold worldwide.
