2007’s The Heartbreak Kid is flat out hysterical. Warning: Many Kendall real estate will think it gets a bit raunchy. But as tested successfully with both Dumb & Dumber and There’s Something About Mary, it’s worth the laughs. The modern film is a remake of the 1972 flick of the same name. Elaine May directed Charles Grodin and Moonlighting’s Cybill Shepherd in Neil Simon’s screenplay.

The movie casts the same comic actor in the same tone as his other romantic comedies, getting himself into predicaments like only Ben Stiller can. The Heartbreak Kid is filled with Hollywood power, even beyond the mariachi guitarists. Ben’s famous father, Jerry Stiller doesn’t earn many chuckles. But Carlos Mencia’s hilarious portrayal Uncle Tito, a porno-smuggling hotel concierge will make you giggle.

Viewers with homes for sale in Kendall think the best costar performance comes from Rob Corddry, playing Ben’s married buddy, Mac. The balding gent is kept on a very short leash. The 90% bald hubby even grows out his one strand of bangs into one curly-Q, along with his baby’s, in order to please his wife. While neither actress has the sweet charm of Cameron Diaz, Corddry’s character blows away Chris Elliott’s entertaining routine in Something About Mary.

Stiller is Eddie Cantrow, a bachelor under pressure to tie the knot before he’s too old. He meets the perfect woman, Lilia, portrayed by Malin Akerman. And once the couple gets hitched, another side of her is revealed on their honeymoon in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The road trip down south is memorable when the blonde beauty spends hours refusing to stop singing along with the radio, and her voice is quite frightening.

Eddie soon figures out the whole truth about the girl. As it turns out, the innocent Lilia is an S&M loving sex freak without employment, a severe drug problem, and a crazy ex-boyfriend. While the newlywed is shacked up in her bathroom due to an outrageous sunburn, Eddie meets Miranda, another beautiful woman on vacation from Mississippi. The two hit it off, and he is stuck hiding each woman from the other. There’s a notable, but the extremely graphic scene involving the Mrs. peeing on Eddie’s back to remedy a Man o’ War sting.  That’s about the time that he gets busted by both of them.

Lilia leaves her new husband in a foreign country with no money, passport or plane ticket home. Miranda ends up taking off as well. The poor chap goes through hell and looks even worse after several attempts sneaking over the border into the States. When he finally succeeds, Eddie is destined to find Miranda. Of course, her cousin is a redneck who doesn’t like Eddie much. Not only does he stick a red pepper up Eddie’s nose, but he later whacks him with a baseball bat.

In the end, Eddie loses his business to the wife he only knew for six weeks in a divorce. But the man still doesn’t seem to learn his lesson as he gets himself into a familiar predicament. As Kendall luxury homeowners can read on the movie poster, “Love really does hurt.”
