High school graduation is always an exciting time. For most kids, that means moving out of their parents’ Lakewood Ranch luxury homes and trekking off to college. Some kids venture to Gainesville to become Gators at the University of Florida. Just as many others head to Tallahassee where they become Florida State Seminoles. Some kids make it all the way down to South Florida for the University of Miami, while others end up at USF in Tampa, as well as UCF in Orlando. Each school is top-notch for a handful of reasons.

Nicki Lopez is currently a senior who lives in a gorgeous home for sale in Lakewood Ranch. Nicki has always been concerned with her academics. After all, she hopes to be a doctor one day. To be more specific, Nicki wants to work as a veterinarian. That way, she can help all the sick dogs, cats, and other animals in her area. After all, seeing any ill creature breaks her heart. Expect of course, the humans. Since she was a little girl, Nicki has always been closer to her pets than many of the boys and girls in her classes. Fortunately, Nicki has worked extremely hard to earn a fantastic GPA, as well as SAT scores. In fact, Nicki just found out that she was accepted to UF. Now Nicki, her friends, and family are thrilled that she will one day be a doctor, even if her pets will miss her while she is gone studying.

Billy Baker is the star football player in Nicki’s class. It looks like Billy and Nicki will be rivals, as he earned a partial scholarship to FSU to play football. At first, Billy was ecstatic that he will be a big shot athlete on campus. However, he has grown a bit nervous. For years, Billy was one of the star athletes in his high school district. When fall rolls around, he will just be a small fish in a big sea of spectacular athletes. No matter what happens, Billy and his family are proud that he earned a spot wearing garnet and gold: even if it is on the bench.

One of Billy’s best buddies off the football field is Matt Andrews. Matt has always considered himself a bit of a book nerd, as he preferred reading literature to watching movies on TV. Weird, right? Apparently, all the boy’s books and magazines paid off, as Matt will be moving down to Coral Gables this summer to begin his business classes at UM. It makes sense if you look at Matt’s history of throwing parties in high school. Whenever his parents left town, the teenager would throw a huge party. Of course, you had to chip in beer money to get in the door. Charging $5 a head for more than 100 attendees, Matt made plenty of profit, even after he had to hire a professional crew to clean up the Lakewood Ranch real estate before his parents returned home. As Matt always says’ “I’m gonna be rich one day. Very rich.”
