Ted Baker is a 41-year-old school teacher who just purchased his very first home for sale in Boca Raton. You see, the man had been living in Fort Lauderdale for the last 20 years and commuting to his school in Palm Beach County. It took a while, but Ted’s wife finally convinced him to relocate away from Las Olas Blvd. to be closer to work.

Living in Boca Raton again reminds Ted of his childhood. After all, the man grew up around Glades and Lyons Road. He went to school at Boca Raton Academy, even after they were bought out by Pine Crest. Then Ted started middle school and attended Logger’s Run. The little athlete also played on the Boca Jets football team.

Next came high school, and Ted was proud to be a Spanish River Shark. But that only lasted one year, as Olympic Heights High School soon opened. Attending school at the new facility was wonderful, as everything from their desks and chalkboards to their football equipment was brand new. Ted’s team, the Olympic Heights Lions football team even went undefeated in the regular season during their second and third year. Being a successful running back, Ted was even the captain of the team in his last year at Olympic Heights.

After attending Florida State University in Tallahassee, Ted accepted a wonderful job offer to sell insurance in Boca Raton. However, he wanted to live in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. It was certainly more fun than residing in Boca Raton real estate, even if he did get stuck on the highway for hours at a time. In fact, Ted spent more time just getting from US1 to I-95 than from Broward Blvd. to Glades Road every day. The mileage didn’t add anything to the value of his car, nor did the additional expense of gas help the situation. But he was still too stubborn to move to Palm Beach County.

Eventually, Ted met his queen. Like his job, she also was located in Boca Raton. After a year, the two got married and she moved into Ted’s small home in Fort Lauderdale. But every day, poor Ted would get nagged about moving into a bigger place, as well as the long drive that they both had to suffer through. You see, Ted’s wife worked even further north in Delray Beach. Needless to say, she was excited to move into the 561-area code.

Now that Ted finally broke down and purchased a Boca Raton luxury home, his office is no more than a hop, skip and a jump from his residence. In fact, he gets to sleep in more than 30 minutes later every morning. Ted can also run home for lunch, instead of eating at some restaurant five days a week, another bonus for his bank account. As much as Ted hates to admit it, his new wife was right. As much as he misses the nightlife, life is better now that he moved to Boca Raton.
