The Numerous Reasons to Live in Venice, Florida

Nowadays, there are multiple reasons why men and women of all ages move to Venice, Florida. For starters, it is located in Southwest Florida, away from the cold weather and snow that folks are used to when they live up north in places like New York. That means they can spend time at the beach twelve months a year, even if there are no waves to surf on the West Coast of the Sunshine State. Regardless, Venice real estate is ideal for divers and boaters, as well as retired individuals from all over the world.

Jack Michaels is a business professional who recently moved to Venice from a small town in North Carolina for work. The man was ecstatic to relocate with his family, as he considers himself an avid diver. Every weekend, he likes to rent a boat and take it out on the water. Then he goes diving so that he can search for shark teeth. Jack has found maybe a dozen or so teeth over the last few months, but nothing that will get him into National Geographic. That is why he is determined to spend as much time as possible in the water. Perhaps one day, Jack will pick up a shark tooth that is so rare, he will become a local celebrity. Let’s just hope that tooth doesn’t come out of Jack’s body first. Doh!

Not unlike Jack, Nancy Taylor purchased a home for sale in Venice in order to be by the ocean. The woman recently relocated to South Florida from Evanston, Illinois to be by the water. Working as a nurse for a private doctor, the divorced mother of two college kids finally made enough to buy a second-hand speedboat. Nancy now spends as much time as possible on the water. She takes her two sons waterskiing and wakeboarding every weekend. Nancy also enjoys fishing, even if she puts everything she catches back into the water. Of course, her sons tease her about being afraid to eat fish and place as many pieces of salmon, tuna, and mahi as possible into her shopping cart every time they go food shopping. At restaurants, they even like to order sushi appetizers against their mother’s will.

A retired Navy man named Allen Baker certainly likes to eat sushi, as well as any type of fish you could imagine. Ever since he retired from the automotive sales industry and moved to the Sunshine State, Allen has become a bit of a fish expert. The man can tell you the best fish markets, as well as restaurants in all of Sarasota County. Allen even knows when the deliveries are made, allowing consumers to buy the freshest fish on the market. When Allen’s grandkids visit his Venice luxury home for their Spring Break, he makes sure to cook them a marvelous dish that they’ve never tried. For instance, the three teenagers from Brooklyn recently tried caviar for the first time. Unfortunately, they are not fans of fish eggs. At least the dish made for a memorable meal on their vacation to Venice, Florida.
