When the weekend rolls around, you do not have to leave your Aventura real estate to be entertained. All you need is the right spoof comedy film from approximately 15 years ago. For starters, Ali G Indahouse from 2002 has a few hilarious parts. Before Kazakhstan’s Borat Sagdiyev had his own film, Sacha Baron Cohen was cast as the UK’s gangster-rapper, Ali G.

The mockumentary film stars Cohen in his comical big-screen debut, while it introduces memorable characters, such as Borat. Ali G takes a stand against the man when the government wants to demolish his beloved John Nike Leisure Centre. By a matter of circumstance, Ali G soon finds himself elected to the British Parliament, talking to various public figures in the United Kingdom. While conversing with fashion designer Tomasz Starzewski, Ali G suggests that the Wonderbra should be outlawed, as it misleading to men. He conducts hilarious interviews with the director of the British Board of Film Classification, as well as the Bishop of Horsham, discussing the creation of the universe.

In no time, the individual is unwittingly embroiled in the Prime Minister’s political scandal. Ali G and foils a plot to bulldoze a community center in his hometown of Staines, a middle-class town to the west of London. Without giving any of the film’s secrets away, just be aware that Ali G exemplifies gangster culture while serving as an outspoken and down-to-earth representative of his people. Men, women, and children in homes for sale in Aventura agree that Ali G is great at keepin’ it real.

Then there is the 2006 film, For Your Consideration. Christopher Guest, the director and co-writer behind mockumentary classics, such as Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show, brings audiences light-hearted comedies that are certainly more family oriented than Ali G Indahouse. Guest recast his familiar improvising actors, such as Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, and Michael McKean, who learn from the unfamiliar “World Wide Interweb” that each of their roles in a film. Moviegoers watch the characters’ hysterical reactions while at work on set, as well on television interviews.

With Guest portraying the director, John Michael Higgins steals the show as the red-haired publicist, as he quoted his American Indian heritage. Also delivering memorable performances is an absent minded and a blonde Mohawk wearing Fred Willard, who parodies a host of Entertainment Tonight. One familiar face on the screen is John Krasinski, recognizable as The Office’s Jim Halpert with a minute role in the film.

Of course, when none of the anticipating prospects truly receive nominations, they each return to their daily lives as a struggling comedian, infomercial guests, and instructing acting classes. With ongoing laughs throughout the movie, the boundaries for comical scenarios seem endless with the news anchor and his subjects. After all, a line from For Your Consideration states, “Oscar is the backbone of this industry, an industry not known for backbone.” Whether they rent them, stream them or catch them on cable, Aventura luxury homeowners can now have a ball watching these silly movies.
