Every Friday and Saturday night, men and women who own Oviedo real estate meet in a member’s place to discuss a modern film that is already a classic. As usual, Martin Scorsese directed the Oviedo real estate movie group’s pick. The Departed is 2006’s explosive drama about organized crime and dirty cops in present-day Boston, as opposed to Scorsese’s wise guys running the means streets of New York.

Introducing the film to those new members with homes for sale in Oviedo, David gave a little summary. He explained to the Oviedo real estate movie group that the Massachusetts State Police Department is waging war again the organized crime ring, and a few agents are working undercover for both sides of the law. It becomes an intense race to see who will uncover the other snitch first and save his own skin. Like The Departed’s poster reads, “Cops or Criminals. When you’re facing a loaded gun, what’s the difference?”

Martin, an active member of the Oviedo real estate movie group, explained that Scorsese finally pick-up his well-deserved and long-overdue Oscar for Best Director. Owners of Oviedo luxury homes agree that the filmmaker had been passed over with six previous nominations for such timeless works of art as 1976’s Taxi Driver, Raging Bull from 1980, and 1990’s Goodfellas.

Martin’s wife, Eve is also a participant in the Oviedo real estate movie group. She explained Jack Nicholson’s character to new members the of Oviedo real estate movie group. Jack portrays Frank Costello, the Irish organized crime leader who appears to be above the law. The joker is superb as the murderous cuckoo with immortal one-liners

Eve continued her discussion among the group members with Oviedo homes for sale. Members of the Oviedo real estate movie group learned that Matt Damon is Costello’s right-hand-man infiltrating the cops’ elite Special Investigations Unit, keeping the boss updated to the Special Forces every move. Leonardo DiCaprio is the undercover policeman with nothing to lose. Mark Wahlberg is surprisingly fantastic as a tense cop working with veteran Martin Sheen as the only team who knows Leo’s true identity. And members of the Oviedo real estate movie group simply adore Alec Baldwin as a quick-witted officer overseeing the entire department.

Jeremy, a member of the Oviedo real estate movie group pointed out how Scorsese makes subtle, but superb use of symbolism throughout his work. For example, the true-at-heart Leonardo hangs the same photograph of Damon’s girlfriend that the bad-guy with a badge refused to display.  Also, Costello fills a bag of groceries for an adolescent Damon in the film’s introduction. The dirty cop is holding the same shopping bag of items in the film’s final scene, symbolizing that Jack is responsible for the demise of Damon’s character. Finally, members of the Oviedo real estate movie group love the dirty rat running along the Boston skyline, representing the numerous characters of the dog-eat-dog saga, as the film concludes.

Music lovers in the Oviedo real estate movie group certainly appreciate the soundtrack. The Departed features classics from historical performers, such as the Rolling Stones, Beach Boys, and Allman Brothers, along with a memorable collaboration between Floyd’s Roger Waters, Van Morrison, and The Band.
