A couple times a month, friends and neighbors with Oviedo real estate get together to enjoy a movie night. While the event usually takes place at someone’s Oviedo luxury home, it can occur anywhere in South Florida. This week, those with Oviedo homes for sale got together to talk about the comedy brilliance of 1980’s Caddyshack.

As Stan McCoy, the founding member of the Oviedo real estate classic film club pointed out, Caddyshack was directed by Ghostbusters’ Harold Ramis. The told the other members of the Oviedo real estate classic film club all about the comedy that stars Chevy Chase, Rodney Dangerfield, Ted Knight and Michael O’Keefe. Each person in Stan’s living room agreed that much of the big names’ spotlight is stolen away by the legendary greens keeper, Carl Spakler, played by none other than Bill Murray.

Joe Benjamin, a newer member of the Oviedo real estate classic film club loves the fact that the script is set on the golf course at Bushwood Country Club, a silly reference to both male and female private parts, and the plot revolves around a clash between classes. While the rich and privileged kids are club members, the naughty and noisy juveniles work for Bushwood. Joe even claims the movie was filmed not far from his Oviedo real estate in Florida.

Some members of the Oviedo real estate classic film club say that Chevy is their favorite character in the flick. Chevy is a wealthy master of one-liners, as well as both the piano and the game of golf, but rarely plays for money. Other members of the Oviedo real estate classic film club pick Rodney Dangerfield. Portraying a wealthy developer, Rodney is a vulgar man, but full of witty insults.

Of course, the most beloved character by the members of the Oviedo real estate classic film club is Murray. Much of his dialogue was improvised. He believes that The Dalai Lama, himself, the twelfth son of the Lama, granted him total consciousness, even on his deathbed.  So he has that going for him, which is nice.

Nancy, another member of the Oviedo real estate classic film club laughs every time she thinks about Murray’s “Cinderella Boy” on an increasingly armed mission to exterminate one pestering gopher from his course. As Nancy explained to the Oviedo real estate classic film club, Murray’s enemy is no more than a puppet portraying an animal. “License to kill gophers by the government of the United Nations,” Spakler tells himself while hunting. “Man, free to kill gophers at will. Some members of the Oviedo real estate classic film club were crying from laughter at Murray’s words.

Perhaps next week, members of the Oviedo real estate classic film club will watch 1988’s big disappointment, Caddyshack II. But maybe not, as they all remember just how bad it is without Chevy Chase or Bill Murray. The movie is not funny at all. In fact, the sequel is a disgrace to the Caddyshack name. It’s so bad, if you stream the video online, you’ll get a free bowl of soup.
