Miami Beach real estate owners who appreciate Pink Floyd’s classic rock are getting themselves psyched up for Roger Waters’ Us + Them tour taking place on Thursday, July 13th at American Airlines Arena. Those who want to get themselves in the mood for the concert, as well as unfortunate fans who did not get ahold of any tickets, can always see the man onstage with the right DVD.

For instance, In the Flesh: Live was recorded in the summer of 2000. It showcases Waters’ timeless performance of Floyd classics in Portland’s Rose Garden Arena. Filmed midway through his first US trek in twelve years, the film has over two hours’ worth of familiar relics, including artistic highlights from Dark Side of the Moon, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall, and The Final Cut, along with selections from his spotty solo career. The entertainer certainly lacks enthusiasm onstage, in comparison to other energy-driven celebrities, such as Bono, who will be performing in Miami this weekend.

The film kicks off with Waters and his bandmates warming up in their dressing room 10 minutes prior to show time. The gray-haired singer is dressed casually as he is relaxed on a couch, strumming his acoustic. Most notable are the man’s touching acoustic solos in “Mother,” “Pigs on the Wing Part 1,” and poignant recreations of “Brain Damage,” “Eclipse” and “Comfortably Numb.” The enormous backdrops continuously display the band’s previous album covers and a giant pig.

Another DVD for folks with homes for sale in Miami Beach who appreciate Floyd is Live 8. Unlike Live Aid, the show wasn’t intended to bring in cash, but awareness and political pressure for global poverty, promote fair trade and to get the richest nations to cancel debts. The monstrous event took place in London, Paris, Rome, Berlin, Toronto, and Philadelphia, with more than 1,000 musicians playing. On top of Sir Paul sharing a stage with U2, London’s gig featured a memorable reunion of Pink Floyd with Waters.

Gilmour first announced the Live 8 reunion, stating that any differences between he and Waters are in the past. He also claims they are insignificant when it came to the overall mission of Live 8.

It was the original line-up, Waters with guitarist/vocalist David Gilmour, drummer Nick Mason, and keyboardist Richard Wright appeared together since 1981’s Earls Court in London show. The only star missing was the recently deceased Syd Barrett. Floyd’s set-list at Live 8 entailed Gilmour singing the lead vocals on “Breathe” and “Money.” Waters takes control of “Comfortably Numb,” while the two shared the lyrics of “Wish You Were Here.” When Waters was not singing, he was simply lip-synching the words off-microphone. Following the unforgettable performance at Live 8, Gilmore announced “Thank you very much, good night,” and started to walk away. But Waters called him back, and the boys shared a group hug that became one of the most famous pictures of Live 8.

In the Flesh and Live 8 are treats for any Floyd fans in Miami Beach luxury homes who want to get ready for Waters’ appearance.
