You may have found the perfect piece of Marco Island real estate for you and your family. Yet, you still have to make the move, which can be an enormous pain in the neck. The whole process takes plenty of time and money that most folks can do without. At least when you follow a few simple steps, relocating to a new property can be as quick and painless as possible.

To begin, you never want to pack everything you own. As much as you may not want to separate with your belongings, it is time to throw out the old junk that does nothing but collect dust. I am not referring to childhood trophies and photo albums. I am talking about your old Teen Beat magazines with Corey Feldman on the cover, as well as your concert t-shirts from the Eighties. Throwing out the unnecessary clutter before you pack will make your job much easier, both while moving and while unpacking in your new place.

Just like you do with your clothes and other personal possessions, evaluate all your furniture. Do you really need to bring that old chair from one garage to the next? No, you certainly don’t. Set aside all the kitchen appliances that haven’t been used in a dog’s age.

If you won’t be using anything, give it away to the less fortunate. Otherwise, you can try to hold a yard sale to bring in a few bucks. If not, you can always try to sell some things on websites like eBay. If nothing else, throw it away. It certainly doesn’t need to take up any more space in your moving truck, as well as in your new Marco Island luxury home.

Don’t be afraid of hiring a professional moving service. Chances have it that you have a lot of clothes, furniture, electronics, kids’ toys, pet accessories, and much more. Are you going to move that heavy bedroom set up to the master bedroom on the second floor? With so much stuff, it is definitely worth it to hire a service to move everything from one home to the next. That way, the safety of your property can be guaranteed. At the same time, it certainly takes plenty of strain off your back, both literally and figuratively. At the end of the day, you want all your property, as well as your aging body, to remain intact.

Remember to shop around. Do not get one quote and sign on the dotted line. I would suggest getting a minimum of three quotes to compare. Then you can always negotiate to get the best price.

Speaking of best prices, you certainly don’t need to spend much on packing supplies. Local grocery stores often give cardboard boxes away for free. You can also ask friends, family members, and coworkers to save cardboard boxes that you can put to good use. If you have trouble getting ahold of free boxes, you can always purchase some for a minimal cost from home improvement stores throughout Florida. There are also plenty of websites that sell packing supplies for reasonable prices. As long as you do a little homework, and moving in or out of any home for sale in Marco Island can be quite painless.
