On August 9th, the Psychedelic Furs will be headlining Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale. Currently on the road throughout Europe and North America, the punk band’s “beautiful chaos” from the late Seventies is now considered alternative. The Psychedelic Furs made it huge in the mid-Eighties when they covered “Pretty in Pink” for the John Hughes film. Stemming from London, they are led by singer Richard Butler and his brother Tim Butler on bass. The Psychedelic Furs took a big break in the Nineties but reformed in the 2000s, the boys have been trekking their way across the world’s stages.

For those music lovers who live up in Palm Beach County, The Funky Biscuit in Boca Raton will be hosting the Woodstock Anniversary Celebration featuring Jerry Leeman and Big Medizen on August 16. The event will be 3 hours, rather than 3 days, of peace and music for showgoers. Making up the band Big Medicine, also known as Big Medizen, the boys are an eclectic ensemble of artists and musicians dedicated to preserving the joy and experience of a live performance, as well as the festival atmosphere at all their shows. Guests with homes for sale in Miami can look forward to hearing Big Medicine’s versions of timeless classics, including Crosby, Stills & Nash, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix. Let’s just hope that nobody tries to light the singer’s guitar on fire this time around.

Miami real estate owners are already getting excited to experience nine-time Grammy Award winner Mary J. Blige perform on August 22nd at The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater. On the road across North America with her 2017 Strength of a Woman Tour to support her latest album of the same name, the veteran singer has been in the business for 25 years, along with rapping, modeling, producing and acting. With 13 albums under her belt, the “Queen of Hip Hop Soul” will make 21 stops across the States before concluding the tour in early September. Unfortunately, big guests such as Kanye West and Missy Elliot who appear on Strength of a Woman are not expected to appear on stage. However, concertgoers will enjoy the opening act, singer Lalah Hathaway, before Blige takes her stage in South Florida.

Backed by vocalist Jade Jackson, Social Distortion will be making its way through Revolution Live in Fort Lauderdale on August 26th. Since first getting together in Fullerton, California in 1978, they have made it huge and recorded a bunch of successful records. True, they did take a break from each other in the Eighties, but Social Distortion is now considered one of the most successful punk rock bands in history. Followers of the group are excited to experience roughly twenty new songs that have been added to the set-list. Perhaps they stem from the new Social Distortion that is scheduled to be recorded this fall.

With so many fabulous shows coming through South Florida next month, Miami luxury homeowners who appreciate music will be on top of the world.
