Why Realtors Love What They Do and Make a Ton of Money Doing It!

Self-employed workers are on the rise, at least according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics report released for March, and this isn’t surprising. Americans love the idea of being their own boss. Setting their own schedule, determining their own earnings, and doing something that they love to do. This is why realtors, like those working in the Orlando luxury homes market, do what they do.

Interesting Statistics

Realtors are identified as self-employed.  Even if they are working under a managing broker, realtors are for all intents and purposes self-employed.

What’s fascinating about the self-employed is that, in general, these individuals earn less money and work more hours than employees earning a paycheck from an employer, or so reports the Pew Research Center. Additionally, its research shows those identified as self-employed experience more work-related stress than hired hands. Much of this stress comes primarily from the fact that there is no assurance of a paycheck coming in.

Despite all these facts, self-employed people like realtors have higher job satisfaction than those who work for others. Some of the reasons reported are identified below.

Be Your Own Boss

It is in our blood! Americans, for the most part, are independent thinkers. We like to do what we want to do and aren’t always keen on having someone tell us what we should be doing. In real estate, it can go both ways. If you are a realtor associated with a particular realty company, you might have to follow some outlined rules or take on some projects asked of you by the managing broker. But, for the most part, realtors working in the Orlando luxury homes market, are independent contractors.

This means real estate professionals selling Orlando luxury homes and other real estate properties will be in control of their daily schedule and their earnings.

Work Schedule Flexibility

When you earn a living as a realtor you can decide when you work. Although your work schedule is largely dependent upon yourself, there are some factors that do come into play.

The Orlando luxury homes market will dictate when it needs you to be available and involved if you want to be a success. There are high seasons and low seasons. Realtors in the Orlando luxury homes market will need to work during certain times of the year to make a decent living, but the hours worked and days of the week are flexible.

Love Real Estate, Love People

Looking at properties all the time may not seem like an exciting activity for some, but for most realtors, it is the bomb! We LOVE walking through homes and taking in all a home has to offer. From unique floor plans to unbelievable upgrades, it is fantastic to soak in all the creative ways architects, builders, and homeowners can make a house into a one-of-a-kind home.

On top of it, there is the people side of the business. Working with all kinds of people keeps the work interesting, and when you find the perfect home for a favorite family, it is like you’ve hit the lottery!
