If you are a Coral Gables homeowner who considers yourself a Led Head, there are a couple of books about the mighty Led Zeppelin that should be in your library. For starters, Led Zeppelin “Talking” is Dave Lewis’s extraordinary collection of the four Englishmen. As the greatest performers to ever tour the world with the heavy metal blues, Led Zeppelin was known to be quite reluctant to give interviews. Rather, the lads preferred to let their music speak for them. But in 2004, Dave Lewis placed together a collection of quotes to tell their story, from the band’s formation through the death of “Bonzo,” and into the new millennium. The 128-page book even has a handful of black and white and color photographs.

The compilation of excerpts is supposedly accurate and has been nicely arranged into categories, loosely chronological. They give Zeppelin fans rare insights that are not offered in other biographies. There is even ample material on the lives of the members after the Zeppelin had landed, and the musicians headed onto their solo careers. Of course, a few more quotes from the bass player and drummer, as well as lines pertaining to the crew’s drugs and debauchery would have been fun. But there is no use complaining about a lack of data that doesn’t exist.

Here’s just one of Robert Plant’s classic phrases found in within the pages; “People say I’m a millionaire, but that’s not true. I only spend millions.” Led Zeppelin: “Talking” gets way down inside the true-to-life history of the infamous monsters of rock.

The very next year, people with homes for sale in Coral Gables got to add Led Zeppelin: The Concert File to their bookshelves. Lewis and Simon Pallett pieced together the comprehensive fan guide providing readers with a detailed look at the kings of stadium rock. Reporting on over 500 concerts between 1968 and 1980, Led Zeppelin conquered every corner of the globe, establishing themselves as the best in the industry.

Led Zeppelin: The Concert File tells the story of how the group started one night at a small pub at the Fishmongers Arms in London and grew into record breaking gods of the business with their numerous massive stadium shows. It gets in-depth with each of the band member’s solo careers after the drummer, John “Bonzo” Bonham passed away in 1980. The book also entails detailed descriptions of the band’s hundreds of historical engagements, venue posters, backstage passes, track lists, concert facts, and even Robert Plant’s commentaries onstage between songs. Also included are rare photographs, ticket stubs and a report on Zeppelin’s into the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 with speeches by Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. If you were fortunate enough to see Zeppelin live, or are simply curious about the greatest band to ever trek through the world’s biggest and best arenas, Led Zeppelin: The Concert File is a must for the library in your Coral Gables luxury homes. Put it next to Stephen Davis’s Hammer of the Gods.
